KAREN'S GALLERY (est. 2005)

1/26/14 - "Springtime Lavendar" Bavarian China - given to Karen upon my move from her home.

Table setting for 12, including all the bells and whistles such as serving bowls, serving platters, sugar and creamer, soup tureen, etc. In mint condition.

I traded her hutch for mine, from my solid oak dining room set, some years ago. Upon my move out from her place, I left her the dining room table and chairs to go with it. I thought I might as well give her the china too.

Oh, while I think of it, this was a gift from Uncle John in the early 1960s. At that time, in the old Zion church (where Brigitte and I were married) they had a Christmas Bazaar every year. One year Uncle John won the top prize, a set of Bavarian china that he gave to Brigitte. The following year he won again, the lucky duck, and he gave me this set. I figured it was the only set of china I'd ever own and so I treated it like gold. It was always hand washed - by me alone. That way if something got broken or chipped, I wouldn't blame anyone else. So far so good. Not a chip in it anywhere and so am pleased to pass it on. Whatever happens to it now is no longer my concern. :o)
