Yellowseed False Pimpernel (Lindernia dubia) 2016-7-4 Newark, DE

native
aka False Pimpernel, Moist Bank Pimpernel, Shortstalk Lindernia
-found growing in the bottom of the ditch in very wet mud
-square stems
-the flower is just a bit under a 1/4" across
-at the time I saw it, it was just 4" tall at flowering, it is described as growing taller
-the flower is described as having a blue or purple tinge. All I saw was a pink tinge with my bare eye, the camera brought in blue tones from time to time. Since I saw the flower as pink and almost all photographs show pink, I've filed it, here, under red, until such time as I see it again and it looks blue.

"Another species, L. anagallidea (Michx.) Pennell is similar but has lower pedicels which are longer then their subtending leaves. This latter species (...) does not grow in as wet conditions as L. dubia."
