2016-5-12 - Bird Quiz pic #4

You are both correct, this is an American Robin.

I saw a bird fly in and thought it was a Robin. But, I was hoping for something to add to the bird list and thought I'd double check to make sure. The sun was in my eyes and binoculars weren't helping so, as I often do in cases like this, I took pictures hoping, that when I transferred them to the computer and could enlarge them, I might see something different. I surely did. I kept looking and looking and eventually I had myself sort-of convinced I was looking at a Redstart. I was concentrating on the curvy orange and the "pattern" in the wings and after a while I found that one of the pictures showed what I thought was a little orange in the tail. It kept niggling at the back of my mind. I went through the pictures many times again (there were more than the ones I put up here), and at last found, or better yet, allowed myself to see the one with the yellow bill with the dark tip. :o)
