garden (see description) I don't see them here, but four of our staples were cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and brussels sprouts. I could freeze the last three, but the cabbage was a problem. I got around that by digging a ditch behind the garage. I lined it heavily with leaves and put the cabbage in. More leaves on top and cover the whole mess with dirt again. Whenever we wanted ham and cabbage, or cabbage and corned beef, or colesaw, I'd just go out back and dig one out.
