(BG) Araneus pegnia MR. DOWNSTAIRS 7/3/12 PL DE - Lower arrow is a visiting, amorous Basilica near Mr. Downstairs' retreat. Upper arrow is Mrs. Downstairs.

Basilica stayed around three days and, whenever I checked, it was in generally the same place. No sign of Mr. Downstairs.

Mrs. Downstairs stayed outside her retreat for most of the time that the Basilica was around, but I usually saw her further down during that time.

This might be a good place to mention that the smallish orb web was between the two gauges and the center was at about the 40% mark. No pix.

That night, a couple of feet away from the gauge, I took pictures of another pegnia on the siding. It looked like Mr. Downstairs (imm. male), but . . .
