Carolina Mantis (Stagmomantis carolina) fem 2015-8-21 Newark, DE

At edge of ditch on Spotted Euthamia (looks like a Goldenrod but isn't).
I just got done reading about how much Mantids like this plant before I went out to get better photographs and had to chuckle when I saw this critter sitting on it.
