Wales to Ireland. (08-25-2009)

Wales morning. After innumberable stops by the bus at various checkpoints the night before, we debarked and walked to our hotel at 1:00 a.m. We wake up to rain.

We leave the port town of Holyhead and take the ferry to Dun Laoghaire (pronounced Dun Leery).

Ferry trip - Lots of Ring-billed Gulls. This could be one of them.

The town is named after a 5th century High King of Ireland. .
-
Rook. We're going to become well acquainted with these birds.

We turn down Philly, Orlando, and opt instead for a train ticket to Dublin.

Dublin. Arrived about 1:00 p.m. From here we hired a car. The first settlement of 'Dubh Linn' goes back to the 1st century *BC*. The town was established in about 841 *AD*

Lunch at "The Oval" in Dublin and we're off.

Heading towards Limerick, where we plan to stay the night, we pass through charming towns.

Mountrath is exactly 60 miles between both Dublin and Limerick. This is St. Brigid's Convent School.
