Beech - A young one, showing the glossy leaves and the smooth gray bark it's known for.

At the end of the thicket path before the first left along the woods towards the house, there was a mushroom bonanza in the woods.

Golden Club Fungus - There were other types of mushroom around the place, but only so many pictures turned out. :-(

Nice stand of Poplar growing on left heading up along the woods.

Flowering Dogwood - Am now walking along the wood edge

Hornbeam - *very* hard wood, so hard in fact that they make door panels in Rolls Royce's out of it.

Hornbeam - it also makes excellent firewood, but I wouldn't go cutting down living trees for it. There aren't that many around.
