Mock or Indian Strawberry

(Potentilla indica) (formerly Duchesnea indica) 4/10/12 PL DE
Berry tastes awful. There's a white (white to slightly pink) flowered wild strawberry with a sweet berry.

Wikipedia says a poultice of the crushed leaves is used to treat skin ailments such as eczema. Anecdotal evidence: I tried it on a spot on my right wrist. Several (at least three) applications the first few days and then a couple more a week or so apart. I don't know if it was the Mock Strawberry or the extra attention (crushed leaves held on with a bandaid did add extra moisture) but it healed to 90% is my guess. After that the only additional moisture the spot got was when I used lotion on my hands. Several months after that I noticed that it was continuing to heal and over a year later it's completely gone. There's no trace of discoloration or thickened skin, it looks completely normal. I don't know if it took that long to heal, it could have been sooner than a year. I just forgot about it and one day looked down and noticed it all cleared up.
