somewhat similar but, on closer inspection, very different plants:
--Common Sowthistle (Sonchus oleraceus)
non-native, sonchus means hollow stem, oleraceus means good tasting, pigs love it, exudes latex, has yellow flowers, dark green stems have five angles, plant leaves are said to be used as salad greens and cooked like spinach
