KAREN'S GALLERY (est. 2005)

Ohio Spiderwort (Tradescantia ohiensis) perhaps the rare white 5/19/12 D&M MD

aka Tradescantia ohiensis alba by some - apparently there has been discussion about this, but that name isn't accepted yet
Found this one in the woods
-the pedicels are hairless
-no matter the petal color, the stamen hairs are always blue. There have been records of red flowers
-Caveat: hybridizes and hybrids with T. virginiana may or may not have hairy pedicels
http://www.illinoiswildflowers.info/prairie/plantx/oh_spiderwortx.htm
to ID
-no hairs on pedicels
-narrower shorter bracts than Virginia Spiderwort
-plant shorter than Virginia Spiderwort
-has gray or bluish leaves
