Virginia Meadow Beauty (Rhexia virginica) 2016-8-6 Newark, DE

Having only seen R. mariana for years, I had great difficulty, when studying its pictures, distinguishing the squareness of the stems and the size of the wings. I think the short, broken, reddish stem in this picture of R. virginica hints more at both, the squareness of the stem and the more noticeable wings.
