KAREN'S GALLERY (est. 2005)

(BG) definitely Brown Trig (Anaxipha) adult female (metrioptera says so and I'm a believer) about 1/4" 8/30/14 Newark, DE

Thin lines on face that I don't know if thin because this is a young one (wings not fully grown).
(8/31/14 metrioptera at BugGuide says this is definitely an adult female)
Also largish, triangle-shaped, very pointed "epaulettes" on shoulders that I don't see in pictures of other Say's Trigs.

The cerci (plural) and cercus (singular) are the two objects on either side of the ovipositor in this picture.
BugGuide says: "typically paired appendages at the tip of the abdomen, usually having sensory functions. Cerci are often enlarged in males, and used in copulation. In some groups, such as earwigs, they are enlarged and used for defense."
