Common Whitetail (Plathemis lydia) fem 2016-8-30 Newark, DE

I'm beside myself with joy! I actually got a decent picture of a Common Whitetail that wasn't on the ground or concrete! I couldn't actually see this with my bare eyes, I only saw the blur of movement as it went up to prey and came down again, and didn't have a clue as to what it was, except that it was something like a dragonfly. I slowly zoomed in with the camera, taking several pictures. Finally I saw it in the viewfinder and eventually got a focused picture. I guess it was somewhere around 20-25' away. Oh, happy day, that I can still get excited about a Common Whitetail! :o)

p.s. - This is a cropped picture. The camera doesn't get *that* close. ;)
