(BGR) Banded Net-wing Beetle (Calopteron reticulatum)

8/29/11 PL - About an inch. When it flew, I'd say it wasn't more than 1-1/2" across, like a really big Skipper, or a small butterfly.

There is another Banded Netwing, but that one has an additional black V running between the head and the first band (C. discrepans).

I wonder if it picked the saucer on purpose, for a bit of camouflage, while it was resting. Looks like it needs a rest, one wing has a chunk missing and one antenna is a stub.
