Lone Star Tick (Amblyomma americanum) male

2015-5-10 Patuxent Research Refuge, Anne Arundel County, MD
Found this tick a week later and when I pulled it off, it came out with a loud "pop". The dark blob at the end of its mouthparts are, I think, some of my blood. It was difficult to take a picture because it kept scurrying about. I put it in a plastic bag. Almost a month later, I was cleaning up some papers on the desk, I found the plastic bag and took better pictures - because - it now - was - very still.
