Common Checkered Skipper (Pyrgus communis) VA at Deb's (8/27/10 - 9/5/10)

see remarks here:
http://bugguide.net/node/view/354354
" Common Checkered Skipper (Pyrgus communis) or the White Checkered Skipper (Pyrgus albescens). The former is widespread but is apparently absent from southern California and southern Texas. The latter occurs in southern California and Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and southern Texas; occasionally strays to southwestern Utah and central Texas; has also been recorded in Florida and is apparently spreading in the east. Where their ranges overlap, these species are indistinguishable except by examining genitalia of males."
