1963? Christmas - 'Concerto in D Major'

Doug: "Obviously Doug's new 'Concerto in D Major' being performed live for the first time even as I am oblivious (like all of the world's great classical composers) to the world around me."

2015-12-19 Doug received this photo along with birthday greetings from his sister, Deb:

Oh, Happy Birthday to you,
Oh, Happy Birthday to you,
Every day of the year,
May you feel Jesus near!
Oh, Happy Birthday to you,
Oh, Happy Birthday to you,
And have the best year you've ever had!
(Not sure I'm remembering the last line correctly. J)
Truly, I hope you have a good year and an abundantly blessed day.
Love,
Arrowhead Nose, Bubble Butt, and Thunder Thighs (So maybe you're not the best nick-name giver. :-p )

2015-12-19 Doug also received a birthday message from his brother Peter:

"Reflection on the first"

My oh my another year gone by:

It was the month of the December and the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and fifty-nine.
It was on the nineteenth of that month in which a mother's face did shine while father looked so fine.

The first born son to carry the name Steiner into the next generation.
There were many wonders and pictures and movies of his innovation.

The families of Meyers and Steiners were overjoyed with this bundle of joy.
As the years slid by, this one, was joined by two who found him to be one to employ.

A big brother who could do and teach marvelous things and bring the normal to bright.
As boring days came for this three, he took up arms against doldrums which took flight.

From train rides to baseball, to croquet and monopoly and hearing his marvelous ability to remembering a verse!
There was no wondering for these other two as they grew up with this first.

To writing of Nixon and China to being his errand boy and girl.
Life growing up with this first was a whirl.

All the while the music played and inspired those others too.
While if he can do it we can too!

Then came that frightful day when the first left the nest.
To become a U.S. Marine to be one of the best among the best.

Then there came a family who was led by this first and they have family and this first is truly the first!
As years flowed by and darkness came and went, in flowed another chapter to burst!

Again he was a first as family abounded and a little joy came to be founded.
The delight of Mother and Father as children of the first abounded.

Today he has completed his military dreams which grew from experience and commitment.
Life is good: and time with the Lord, his ways and thoughts brought fulfillment.

So here we are another fine day, many years later, to bid cheer to the first.

Happy Birthday Doug,

~Peter

    Debbie:

I added your birthday greeting to photo. Before I send link to Doug, would you mind taking a quick look at the description to see if all is as it should be? Some time ago Thunderbird stopped rendering some characters once they're copied and I'm left wondering what punctuation I might have guessed wrong.
