Carolina Mantis (Stagmomantis carolina) fem 2015-8-21 Newark, DE

My first thought was, "must get a look at color of spot on chest between forelegs." I was disappointed. I was looking for orange or yellow (thinking of Chinese Mantis) and found this blah black. As it turns out this is my first Carolina Mantis and I think it should have at least had a magenta spot, or some hint of classy dress Stewart plaid, or a tasteful paisley. Oh, well . . .
