This section sure brought to mind some fond memories of Tante Gretel, Tante Lisa and Uncle John. Uncle Harry was a chef wasn't he? -

@Peter: Yes, Uncle Harry was a chef. He and Aunt Gretel decided to go on their own around 1935 and bought their place in North Wildwood. In those days residents stayed for the entire Summer season. For an additional fee, those that were interested could have breakfast and dinners cooked for them. ***** Slowly the rentals turned to monthlies and eventually into weeks and weekends. Uncle Harry died and Aunt Gretel carried on cooking meals until 1967 when she eliminated that option for residents. -

@Doug: Aunt Gretel was in her 20's when she married. Uncle Harry was in his 40's. Since she was the youngest of Hans Meyer's children, I assume she was married in the 1920's. Perhaps Walter could look in the family Bible and see if he can fill in some blanks. -

Thank you for the info and update. I still have tremendously fond memories of Wildwood, although I cannot remember Uncle Harry at all. As for Tante Gretel, one of my favorite people to talk too! So full of life, and I suspect many stories I never did hear. -

Tante Gretel was born Sept.23, 1905 and uncle Harry was born April 3, 1893. They married on May 22, 1935. She was 30 yrs old, he was 42 years old. Uncle Harry was 69 when he died in March 15, 1963. Together they had a Restaurnat in N. Philly then bought the house in Wildwood on May 15, 1950. Seems to Walter and me that Tante Lina, born in 1908, was the youngest of the living kids of Johann Meyer -
