I liked Gerlinde immensely and always looked forward to her visits. I was disappointed when I learned she was moving back to Germany for good.

The hutch in the background was part of a set. It bit the dust in Mickleton. The big buffet went to the Goodwill when we moved out of Germantown. I still have the credenza.

Douglas was already living with us for his first year. --K
