1959 - The beach, the boards, and the 22nd Street ramp. A year from now this was heaven for me Monday through Friday, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. (see description) On the left you can also see the pier as it was with wooden pilings and the little fishing shack that catered to people who wasted their time fishing instead of swimming. Also, in the left corner under the boardwalk is a building that was remodeled some years later and became "The Summer Place". The Summer Place was an interesting spot for teenagers, but I didn't know about such things yet.
