KAREN'S GALLERY (est. 2005)

1966 - Your Mom getting ready to go to her prom. She made that dress. I loved those Dutch doors.

This was the hair cut from hell. I came home in tears and made a mad dash to bathroom to wash, set, dry, comb out, in time for date's arrival.

I also made a couple of wool suits for work, but mostly dresses on my mother's sewing machine. Made my prom gown, too. In Woodbury I made draw drapes for two bedrooms on my own machine. In Mickleton most of my sewing centered around kid stuff, the occasional seam, replacing zippers in jackets, halloween costumes, christmas stockings, pillows, and so on. Children grew out of needing halloween costumes fairly quickly, and once they were wise to replacement zippers sometimes looking a bit funky, well that was the end of that.
