A race, a walk in a park, and a good soak.

The race is over. Now, where to find Michael? Between the crush of participants and the welcoming watchers, it's no wonder we had a difficult time finding each other.

Time: 26.2 miles in 3 hrs 51 min. Ranking: Overall #229 of 566, of all men #198 of 440, in his age group #89 of 176.

Iceland is very much into alternative energy for their cars. This is a hydrogen model.

After dinner we're on our way to the "Blue Lagoon" and its mineral waters to soak and soothe.

At the Blue Lagoon. Pale green moss covers much of Iceland's tundra. Here at the lagoon it appears paler.

The Blue Lagoon. Everyone agrees it looks supernatural. It's in a lava field in Grindavík and fed by run-off from a nearby geo-thermal power plant.

The Blue Lagoon. Iceland has strict hygiene rules and showering in communal area, without clothing, is required before and after using the Lagoon.

A great way to soak tired muscles. Hot spots and cold spots, but mostly averaging 104 degrees F.
