We're traveling along the Kenmare River.

The name Kenmare is the anglicized form of Ceann Mara and means "head of the sea".

For Harry Potter fans, Kenmare is the home of a professional Quidditch team. Kenmare was also mentioned in a Star Trek Enterprise episode "Breaking the Ice".

Frisky domestic sheep.

Goat or shorn sheep. We can't decide. Farmers spray/splash paint on their domestic animals to denote ownership.

Dinner in Sneem. Sneem means "The Knot". Most believe that name comes from the swirling knots of water where the Sneem River meets the waters of Kenmare Bay.

The Butler Arms in Waterville. The Butler family built a house at the mouth of the River Currane in the late 1700's and named the estate Waterville. The name stuck and now has a pop. of 538.

Next stop Valentia Island, where we'll stay the night. The permanent population of the island is 650. The island is about 7 miles long and almost 2 miles wide.
