KAREN'S GALLERY (est. 2005)

Aristides (1872–1893) was a chestnut American thoroughbred. He, unexpectedly, was the first horse to win the first Kentucky Derby in 1875.

The statue in the left background is of Pat Day. He is the all-time leading rider at Churchill Downs. His statue is life-sized, with one small difference. The statue stands 5'1" and Pat Day is 2" shorter. Day is retired from racing and lives in a suburb of Louisville.
