Cedar Apple Rust gall on a Juniper. It takes two years for the life cycle of this Rust.

First come the dark brown, roundish, galls. Then the galls develop elongated, orange, gelatinous projections called spore horns.

    I think it's wild that we saw the orange horns AND the brain galls (2 different stages of the same Rust), both in VA and both at different visits.
