Georgia (11/2 to 11/6/2009)
Visiting with Mike for a week in Georgia. We took a couple of day trips, the first to Stone Mountain, and the second to Amicalola Falls.

You can tell we're REALLY excited about the prospect of hanging a couple thousand feet in the air. Over rock. Without a net.

To look at the view you have to stand still or trip and fall because of the holes in the rocks.

Here's one of the pits made by water. Plenty big enough to get your foot in and trip, or twist your ankle.

Next day we go to Amicalola Falls State Park. "Amicalola" comes from Cherokee and means 'tumbling waters'.

The view from the top, before we go down the steps to the bottom of the falls. There are 425 steps, but the waterfall is 729 feet high.

Autumn foliage is dressing up the view. An 8-mile trail runs through here and meets with the end of the Appalachian trail.

At the bottom. On the left, the steps, and on the right, the waterfall. Getting down was the easy part. Next day home again. - Good to see you, Mike! Great visit!
