2009-10-26 trunk wood - finally turned over to Deb 4/24/10 (see description) One time when your mother came to visit I showed it to her and she fell
in love with it. That, I think, was pre-move to VA, meaning I'm pretty
sure you were still in Media. Anyway, she liked it so much, and was
going on about how neat it would be to stuff with lard 'n seeds, or
peanut butter, maybe nail it on a board, post, or a tree, and her eyes
were lit up so much, I told her, teasingly, and with a straight face, if
I wasn't doing anything with it at the end of a year or so, I might just
throw it away. ;-) You should have seen her face! :oD She made me
promise to give it to her before I did something that rash! :oD Of
course, I did. Some time went by and your family moved to VA Beach.

The first time we were going down to visit I put the wood in the trunk,
thinking she'd love it as a surprise house-warming gift. Well, I forgot. I didn't say anything to her about it afterwards, thinking that I'd give it to her next time. That time turned into next time, and the next time, and the time after that. The wood was always in the trunk and never got taken out.

I always think of it as your mother's, not mine.

    Peter
Reminds me of Wilson the soccer ball in the Tom Hans movie "Castaway".

Excellent, Peter! I hadn't noticed the face until your comment, and since Castaway is one of my favorite movies . . . :oD

While on a visit with Deb this past October for a raptor hunt she mentioned that someone told her it looked like it was a piece of a rail post. I agree. The cut-outs look just right for that.
