KAREN'S GALLERY (est. 2005)

The other end of the marsh to the right.

Let's walk down along the edge of the grass just a little ways. I estimate the wide part of the marsh is about three to four thousand square feet and I'm looking forward to exploring this mini ecosystem. It would probably be more correct to call it a ditch at its narrow part, and a swale at its widest, but since I know this complex is built on a marsh, that name seems to have stuck in my brain.

At the right, on the end, you can see another two story building like mine. That's another court of homes - same setup, big building at the end with an additional 4 single story homes on each side. That's a total of 12 homes in each court. There are 108 units here.

I've already seen a family of foxes several times, a groundhog, and lots of squirrels. I'm told there's a white skunk with just a little black on him living under the pavilion in the center of the complex. I haven't smelled him yet, so he must be happy there.

There's a Cooper's Hawk that lives in the area. I've seen him two days in a row between seven and eight at night. I suspect he could be the one responsible for the Pigeon feathers on the grass in front of a neighbor's patio. I was puzzling over the feathers when Karen came by. She suggested Pigeon and I don't know what else it could be. Are we beginning to see a pattern here?

Let's turn around and look back at the building.
