6/14/93 - Once upon a time there were two stately Catalpa Trees. From time to time, when the season was right, the fishermen would come and pick the worms that came to eat the flowers.

6/14/93 - But the trees were messy. They dropped masses of flowers and even more seed pods, and to make matters worse, the first frost killed the leaves.

6/14/97 - Then one day, a year later when the mighty trunks were dry, the master and mistress of the house called out for help from relatives and friends to come and saw the lumber.

Alas, even the hardy Catalpa boards became old and in time needed to be replaced, and a new and remodeled bridge was built.

12/23/11 - Today, people travel from near and far to have their picture taken on the new bridge and the Catalpa is forgotten by most.

The master and mistress of the house did not forget. They rescued the old Catalpa planks and used them to line secret paths along the water's edge. They say you can find the paths today, if you look for them, and walk on the planks... if you dare!
