KAREN'S GALLERY (est. 2005)

In memory of John Hadley (Sam's brother)

August 21, 1933 - December 21, 2013

1/19/14 - in an eMail Sieglind writes:

Our Christmas was with Mark, the others had all returned home (although Nathan and Jeanine and baby Brandon came back for the funeral.) Mark extended his visit to also include the funeral. It was a busy time. We had some family from Sam's side stay over afterwards as well.

It was a special funeral with his son and son-in-law taking the funeral. There were many tears, grand-kids participated and a 21 gun salute at the cemetery.(He was a world war II veteran.) His wife Mary Alice is having a very hard time adjusting to being without him. They were married for almost 58 years. From the time they diagnosed him, he lasted one month. It was hard for her to let him go.

A special song we sang at the end of our anniversary evening since we knew he was leaving us at any moment was:

There is coming a day
When no heartaches shall come
No more clouds in the sky
No more tears to dim the eye!
All is peace forevermore
On that happy golden shore
What a day, Glorious day that will be

There will be no sorrow there
No more burdens to bear
No more sickness, No pain
No more parting over there
And forever I will be
With the one who died for me
What a day, glorious day that will be.

What a day that will be
When my Savior I shall see
And I look upon His face
The one who saved me by His grace.
When He takes me by the hand
And leads me through the promised land
What a day, glorious day that will be!

John wrote a tract a few years ago and it was read at his funeral by two of his grand-kids. It said "Thank you
for taking this tract" and turning the page to where John wrote verses from the Bible showing that all the person needed to do to know his Savior was to believe that He died in his or her place, confess his sins and ask Him to take over his or her life.
"That if you declare with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him form the dead you will be saved." Romans 10:9
