1990 - Sam and Sieglind in Switzerland

==================

3/22/13 - received an eMail from Sieglind with the following. This part of the trip is after Nigeria.

==================

SIEGLIND SAYS:

After 5 days we were back on the road to the airport bound this time for Paris. We almost missed our flight because of a flat tire. We were surprised when he brought out the spare that it didn't look any better than the flat. Anyway we made it and Sam gave some money for them to buy a decent tire.

I had to interpret at times to Sam since they have quite an accent (British English with tribal mixed in) For instance one guy was all excited about the cop that they had won, he was talking about the Cup they had won in soccer.

Sam's Aunt Julia, his mother's sister, was at the time in France and Switzerland preparing places for us to stay at and also for the two reunions we were to attend. His oldest sister Anne married a Frenchman and lived in an old Castle. We stayed with her for a few days, had a 50 plus family reunion, went on to Switzerland and had another 50 plus reunion and finally to Germany. At this point the wall was down and we drove with Harry Adner to Erzgebirge and stayed
at the family hotel that they now had received back from the Communists who had taken it over after the war. (We had met up with Mark and Andrew in Bourdeaux France and from then on we
traveled together.) After Germany they headed home via Frankfort while we stayed a few days longer.
