2014-8-9 This is why the bird in Deb's picture is an Indigo Bunting.

(The inset is a picture I took of a Blue Grosbeak at Bombay Hook NWR.)
The most obvious feature is the lack of rusty wing bars.
After studying more images of these two birds online, I can see that the slope of the forehead is different.
The amount of black surrounding the bill is also not the same, not to mention the size and shape of the bill itself.
It's not an immature Blue Grosbeak either, females are brown and 1st yr males are also mostly brown with just a hint of blue here and there.

    Not to worry, once you get a look at a Blue Grosbeak, you'll never mistake an Indigo Bunting for it again! :o)
