1944 - Brigitte and the boys - Walter B., Klaus B., Walter M. (see description) There are a lot of old stories these four could tell of ammo hunts in the woods, and many, more. I just remember bits and pieces of a few of these stories, so I couldn't do them justice.

When Nürnberg was bombed so was Aunt Babette's home. (Aunt Babette is Oma Meyer's sister. Aunt Babette's husband was away in the war. He was declared Missing In Action some years after the war ended.) Aunt Babette packed up what little was left and what she could carry and came to live on the farm for several years. I don't remember the exact time frame, but I believe I was around 2 when she and the boys moved back to Nuremburg. That would make it around 1950 when they left.

The earliest memory I have of the boys is when they decided to blow up a little shack on a pond. I didn't know that's what they were doing at the time, I just remember a lot of whispering. At one point the two Walters told Klaus to take me back to the house. He didn't want to, and I didn't want to leave. He grabbed me by the hand and we ran back. Well, *I* ran, I guess he was just walking fast. We were almost to the house when I heard a !BOOM! There was a lot of excitement in the house later, and all the grown-ups were mad. Go figure. I guess you'll have to talk to Uncle Walter to hear the story from his point of view.
