I found an old postcard online that shows the LLoydheim, Amerika, and Washington Hotels in the city of Bremen. It appears Konrad and John were there for a celebration of some kind.
Uncle John (after Aunt Elizabeth) was the second to emigrate to America. Perhaps John was leaving and Konrad was seeing him off. I suppose we'll never know - unless someone knows when Uncle John left Germany - that might be another clue if this was really a "goodbye" for John or Konrad, or something else entirely.
