Taking a good look at the back feathers on the Great Blue Heron. There was something odd about the Cormorant in the middle. (see description) Double-crested Cormorants

The one in the middle looks off. It has warmer brown tones.

A quick search on-line tells me the imm. has a pale breast and dark belly.

I also learn they are monogamous.

This is probably a family. The two adults top and bottom and the young one in between.
