2011-3-13 Bombay Hook
Our last "single" birding trip together before the big day, April 9. We arrived around three in the afternoon and were expecting a short visit, instead we were treated to ducks, ducks, and more ducks - and loved every minute of it! For dinner, we ate chicken with our fingers and used a spoon for cole slaw and potato salad. All too soon the sun began to set. We were the last car out of the Refuge.

3/13/11 - We were so engrossed with birding we forgot to take pictures and it's getting dark.

3/13/11 - This Great Egret made a surprise show at the side of the road as we were leaving.

3/13/11 - Was profile close-up. He turned his head, leaving us with comical picture of stick. He must be related to one in next photo.

Cape May 9/12/2009 Great Egret. This bird's neck just kept going, and going, and going.....

3/13/11 - Sunset at Bombay Hook. Earlier, at the pond near where we saw the Egret, we were listening to a chorus of Wood Frogs.

This was our last "single" birding trip together. Bittersweet.
