-An impromptu afternoon drive down to the Hook on a mild day (temps in the 60s) was a good time for duck watching. We stayed till almost dark and were the last car out of the refuge. We were sorry to see the observation deck at the pond by the boardwalk trail removed. We hope they replace it.
-Am. Crow, Red-tailed, Cooper's, TV, Black Vulture, Am Robin, N. Harrier, RW Blackbird, White-throated Sparrow, Song Sparrow, GB Heron, Bald Eagle, Mallard, N. Shoveler, Canada Goose, Snow Goose, Trumpeter Swan, N. Pintail, Bufflehead, Common Merganser, Am Black Duck, and GW Teal were the birds we remembered to write down. Total 22 species.
